Renovation
The renovation of the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Vall d’Hebron Hospital, initiated in 2021 and designed by Plasencia Arquitectura, represents a vital transformation in healthcare design. This project aimed not only to modernize the facilities but also to provide a more humane, uplifting environment for children undergoing cancer treatment and for the medical staff caring for them.

The design introduces playful and warm interiors, integrating natural light, soft colors, and welcoming communal areas where children and families can find comfort during difficult times. Functional spaces such as waiting rooms, treatment areas, and outdoor terraces were reimagined to promote healing, reduce stress, and foster a sense of community.
